You may recall my stories about Maj Guy in the two tales of Manos restaurant in Tokyo in the 1970s, My first adventure, and the time Maj Guy and I took our wives to Manos, just to prove out innocent intentions. It was very exclusive brothel of sorts, with only foreign women, which Japanese men at that time were very enamored with.

Famous Un-Common People I Have Known, Jefe (Revised)

(Note: I wrote this a few days ago under the assumption Jefe was no longer able to correspond and even have passed away. He wrote me yesterday from Hawaii that he was just fine, Thank you, and to correct a couple of errors in my retelling of our last discussion in 1975. Kissed by an Angel, Where Violins are the Angels’ Voices, and the Cello Sings Harmony

Ensign Sarah Mitchell, USN, 23, of Oakford, PA

died July 7, 2018 aboard the guided missile cruiser, USS Jason Dunham, in the Red Sea, during a training exercise.

She was a 2017 graduate of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets.

Job well done, Ensign

Spc Gabriel D Conde, 22, of Loveland, CO

was killed 3o April, 2018  in Nangarhar, Afghanistan, by hostile small arms fire

He was of 3rd bn, 509th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division

Rest in peace, Soldier
